In 2022, after extensive public input received through the CEQA process, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) approved the North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Corridor Project. The Project extends approximately 19 miles from the North Hollywood Metro B/G Line (Red/Orange) Station on the west to Pasadena City College on the east. The BRT corridor generally parallels the Ventura Freeway (State Route [SR] 134) between the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys and traverses the communities of North Hollywood and Eagle Rock in the City of Los Angeles, as well as the Cities of Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena.

The final project included substantial modifications that were adopted in response to hundreds of comments received on the Draft EIR, as well as follow-up from the agency based on that feedback. The modifications resulted in substantial improvements to public safety and transportation impacts through, for example, reconfigurations; preservation of and upgrades to sidewalks and bike lanes throughout the area; and adoption of additional mitigation measures such as wayfinding signage, lighting, and access to pedestrian safety amenities (e.g., handrails, fences, and alternative walkways). The CEQA process worked as it should, and the revised project has been well-received by the community with no litigation being filed; planning and construction for this important project are now underway.
