Saving Open Spaces

One of the last remaining wildlife areas in urban San Diego, Rose Canyon is home to bobcats, the threatened California gnatcatcher, and numerous other native species. When the City of San Diego approved construction of a nearly 1600-foot-long road and bridge across the Canyon, conservation groups contended that the project’s EIR failed to adequately consider its devastating environmental impacts and lacked a proper analysis of alternatives. The City ultimately rescinded its approval of the project.
